I have probably posted this photo, taken a few years ago, before on this site, but it has since been re-edited. These are a kind of wild geranium whose actual name I am too lazy to look up; walking past them they just look like little white flowers, but when you get up close they are jewels. Of course to get up close you have to get down...and then get back up. It's almost always worth the effort.

They look like Spring Beauties to me but I'm not sure. See attached pic of Spring Beauty. And your right about the getting down part. Also about the gettin' back up part too.

They are beautiful flowers. It’s the getting up part that defeats me.

They appear to be similar, but ours are white. I'm not a plant person except that I love to peer closely at flowers. Yours are very pretty. Next time I get down that far I might just stay there and wait for the next crop of flowers!

I know, right? I have my ways. I actually do a LOT of stretching/strengthening exercises just to get me through my work days, and luckily they help with my outings. Otherwise I'd probably be stuck in some canyon somewhere. Do you know the name of these flowers?

I will watch for them. I haven't been taking a lot of photos lately and am enjoying those taken by others.

I didn't see it before, but I really like what you did to it, SWF.

Thanks. In my original post, if there really was one, they looked a lot more like little white flowers. That was before I really used Lightroom. There I was able to bring out a lot more of the tiny details that made these gems, the details that made me want to take their portrait in the first place. I appreciate your comment.

Thank you. This was not the first "destination hike" scuttled because of the abundance of wildflowers that needed seeing to.

Thanks. Lightroom editing mostly just brought out more detail and accentuated the colors. I try never to over-do things.

Wildflowers are fleeting so it is more important to capture them. The landscape will still be there! It is really fun to revisit an older photo and see how much more you can do with it the second time around.
