This time there were two, and they were accommodating enough to pose just above my deck, while the sun was still up. They appear to be barred owls, juveniles, judging by their calls.
Again I used my XSi with the kit 55 - 250 at max zoom and aperture, and the ISO was high, but the results were much better. They were cropped and fiddled with in Lightroom
