I know posting this late from the best coast,,,,very few will see this post. Those that do should know its a composite. The city was taken with a 50 mm 1.8 and the comet itself was captured with a 400 mm 5.6 Exposure on both 3 sec.

Where in hemet. I managed a shot from Homeland but trouble getting a good focus on it

On the road to Idyllwild bellow Mountain Center, Fly cessna . If you go that way you will see turnouts on the left. One large turnout near the top will have lots of cars and people and just bellow it is another turnout with nobody.

Know the spot well I was thinking of trying op on the Mountan but just had back surgery today so not going anyplace soon I did get some shots from Homeland last night before my surgery ( went good BTW) so I’d like to meet up with you some time I’m at the airport most days and belong to Cypress soaring and Hemet Model Masters I know too many hobbies😜

Got my PL in a 150 , bought a taildrager from a cattle rancher and the day I was to pick it up and fly it home he hit a bull on take off, that's my Cessna background. Been thinking seriously about a hot air balloon shoot maybe this fall. I was surprised by the quality of dark sky up 74, thinking about shooting the Milky Way over lake Hemet. Back surgery sounds serious when will you be up and about? There is an other hog member in Hemet, that meet up did not work out.

I’ll be back up in a couple of weeks home tonight Loma Linda VA did a good job (outpatient) I’ve had the 172:for 5 years now looking forward yo getting it back in the air in 30 days I need to change oil in it anyway but it will wait for a while Had a 150, 140,and an ercoup After I sold my glider.
I take a camera with me everywhere (canon g7 mk2) and use myT3i for shooting planes (RC and Full-size ) when I’m planning on shooting a particular plane, my wife gets some good shots with her cell or a point and shoot from the plane too I’m planning on posting some on UHH now that I have some down time. I’m an IA it keeps me busy on the airport but I set my own hours so lots of free time when I need I’m semi retired so it pays for my hobbies
