Here is a picture of the Ryan Ranch Ruins in Joshua Tree NP.

There were a few prominent families the mined and ranched in the Joshua Tree area. A few of the more notable were the Key's, the Ryan's and Bagley. When you read about the history of the families there, you realize that there was a lot of drama and conflicts. The Key's ranch is still fully intact, but only a few structural remains of the other ranches. In addition to the ranch ruins, the area is littered with old cars, pumping and mining equipment and old mines.

I'm still out in the wilderness and don't have access to my other images, so I've selected this iphone image. Hope you enjoy and have fun with the image.

Just a crop and slight adjustment. Having been there many a morning, this is exactly what it looks like. Pretty glorious as it is, viewed in download.

We don't have any deserts in NJ, so it's always nice to see images like Mike posted. Here's my view:

Here is a picture of the Ryan Ranch Ruins in Joshu... (show quote)

I decided to use a similar crop as MattPhox; but then thought that the mountains should be de-emphasized and the ruins should be highlighted.

She might be one of the decedents of J. D. Ryan.

Nice image. I didn't look at the other replies before I edited this image. That kept me honest while seeing how my vision compares to others whose work I respect. I think we all see something unique when we attempt to bring our vision to life.
