This guy is very young... as they age some males can get to be 500lbs +
They destroy the pasture grubbing for roots... and their litters can average 8-12 biannually
And unfortunately they are moving north. This past Fall they were supposedly eliminated from the Shawnee NF in southern Illinois.

In SE Kansas were have people releasing pigs to become feral hogs. They then kind them. The destroction they can do to a crop is extensive.

I hope they don't move west. We don't need them in Utah.
They are good eating.... In Texas there is no season on them. Hunted year round
In Cotulla, we have a Wild Hog Cook Off every year. Some of the dishes they make are amazing....

They are in Idaho so likely you have them too.
In South Texas we have both feral pigs and peccaries. Feral pig is good eating, peccaries are better.
There is no hunting restrictions on feral pigs, no time limit, no license required. Peccaries on the other hand are considered big game, restricted time and license required. But they sure are good eating.
We've got many of them down here too!

I reckon if times become extremely hard here is a ready supply of food. I can remember seeing them run through the woods at Fort Stewart, Georgia. They are fast on their feet.
Wild pigs are fast and smart. They learn quick to avoid hunters.
Good hunting rig is an AR-15 in a large caliber with a suppressor attached.
In Texas, they also use helicopters, which seems a bit noisy!
I wonder if you can rig an AR to a drone?

You guys are making me hungry.... :-)
I've always wondered if they end up in dog food. Flavors like "Pork and Wild Boar." Seems like a good use for them.
