Usually I like flowers to have a more delicate background, but for some reason I enjoyed the rougher canvas for this one with the subtle color gradations. Texture shows up best in download. Comments/critiques always welcome. Bev

Very lovely colors and result, Bev. Do you make your own texture files?

Really nice Bev. I like the contrast between the soft texture of the flower and the grainy texture of the background. Very pretty colors.

I use Daily Texture a lot, also 2 Lil' Owls, and I make my own too, but I'm not really good at it yet. Can't get some of the strong paint stokes in mine. The above image has 3 of Jai Johnson's Daily Textures. Thanks for your comments. Bev

Thanks Keni, I sometimes feel I'm not doing the flowers justice by using bold strokes and rough canvas, but then I want to experiment also............it's so nice we have choices now using PP. Thanks for your comments and checking out my image. Bev

It is very nice. I find the line across the top and along the right edge a little distracting and would crop it. The overall effect is very well done.

Thank you for the suggestion, kpmac. I experiment with edges sometimes and it's not always needed. Bev

Appreciated. You might have seen our library previously, but just in case:

Feel free to use any of those, mix and match, change colors and so forth. I have some of the free files from Shadowhouse (link in the thread) that are favorites too.

Very nice choice of background texture. I like the soft flower, not always achieved this nice. I find the harder strong edge on the lower part of the rose and the stronger white edge of the petal just above the rose drawing too much attention. I've come across this problem several times and use the blur tool or the smudge tool that can softens edges.
