Camera Plates

Hi Guys,
I have for the last 4 years been using the Custom SLR Pro plate on my 5d3 in conjunction with their Cloop to attach the shoulder strap and a wrist strap for extra security and convenience thus I was able to almost instantly go to using the camera hand held and if I wanted to use a tripod or monopod the camera could be just "clicked" into place with the straps secured to prevent any vibration and also enable the camera to be then removed put over my shoulder and move on without any fuss

It has proven to be a great product so much that as I am now purchasing a second 5dmk4 i wanted to be able to use the same system but, much to my dissapointment they have decided to discontinue the Pro plate instead offering their slim plate )which is the same as the pro but without the extra"spigot to attach the C Loop to thus necessitating removing the C Loop each time I wish to use a tripod/monopod thus negating the purpose of their system

Does any one know of a similar compatible system
.Thanks
Bob

Will this universal camera plate work for you?

Also check out PEAK Design as they have products that have ability for extra safety locks.

Really Right Stuff plates for the 5D have a QR socket and a strap attachment slot. I have a Peak Design hand strap and use a Black Rapid sling strap with a RRS QD connecter that I can instantly attach or remove from the plate.

Why do you not use the strap brackets on the sides of the camera body? That would seem more secure than attaching the strap to a plate that is screwed on and can become dislodged.

I use the Peak Design Anchor System like this & an L bracket attached to the camera.

Thanks for the replies
With the CSLR system the camera when being carried on the shoulder strap is in a face down mode ,ie the lens is pointing down, allowing the hand to naturally fall into the grip and feels quite natural
I tried using the camera loops and found that the camera kept twisting around
Looks like I will have to see if I can get a copy machined up as it seems like there are no other alternatives, shame really as CSLR had such a good system
