He meant drawing 4 10"s - that would be taking them out of the remaining cards of the deck. He did not mean to remove then prior to the start.

Well, perhaps he did. By the time I read that I think he had already annoyed me with his insistence that he had the right answer. Yes, looking back, I missed his meaning.
