Which Way Should I Go?

My daughter and I love to drive the backroads for the day just to see what we stumble across. In one her ramblings she found a cow pasture in the middle of nowhere with these very large sculptures made out of farm implements and other every day items. The light was not good the day she found them so we made another trip to see them in early morning light.

I hope I was able to capture the scale of this one. I am estimating the poles are about 35 ft long (?). I am 5'9" and standing next to the first pole my head was even with the height of the pole about a foot above the rusted metal sheath. I shot it from several different angles and liked these two the best. From a compositional stand point which do you like better and why? Any other thoughts and comments are appreciated as well.

Thanks,
Keni

No.1 offers a better spread of the 'fan' and I think the light is more typical of early morning.

The first one shows the spread of the top better, which I assume is the point of the sculpture. However, the second one shows the detail and the spread of the bottom more, and I actually like it better.

I prefer the second because of the angle of the front pole.

I prefer #2. It's shot at an off angle. The angles seem stronger and, to me, more boldly diagonal. #1...a turkey tail......

Thank you all for your comments. It is very much appreciated. I know there is not a big difference between the two photos but sometimes little things can have a bigger effect. It is definitely a place I will go back to and reshoot.

The second one is compositionally stronger with more force and tension coming from the fan. It feels more dynamic almost as if it is piercing the sky.
