Take a ride on the original mother road
Get your kicks on Route 66... Grew up along that highway.
Many years back i followed that road from Chicago to Santa Monica via '95 BMW R11gs. What fun and the sad part was just a film camera so very little picture taking and they evaparated somewheres along the line
That is one trip that I would love to take. Good set Rusty.

Part of RT 66 runs through my town , although we know it as Old Lincoln Highway.

Those were the days. Nice shots Rusty
I really like your first shot. We’ve driven all of 66 except the short section in CA and I never thought to get the iconic sign painted on the road. Nice capture!

Interesting road. When I was stationed in Amarillo, Texas during the early 60's, Rt. 66 was right outside the main gate. A buddy and I traveled it out to his home in California on leave.
There are not so fond memories of all two lane highways before the interstates like getting behind a farmer on a tractor or getting behind a string of cars going 50mph in a 65mph zone and not being able to pass because of the hills and curves. Then there's going through all those small towns with 25mph and 30mph speed zones. And then putting up with that while traveling in the summer with no A/C. I'll stick with the comfortable modern automobile and the interstates.
