Our club wants to develop a website. One feature we want to include is a "gallery" of members' favorite photos - maybe up to thirty or so for each member. To save the time of the webmaster, we are thinking of establishing a means whereby members can post their own photos. However, concern has been expressed that all posted photos should be cleared for content by the webmaster, as a precautionary measure. Have any of you with experience with websites had any experience with either of these two procedures? Thanks.
Try:
Meetup.com
Thats what we use locally.
Thanks, but this site seems to be aimed at closed groups, whereas our club is interested in developing a website in the normal sense, i.e., open to anyone interested in our club and/or what might be displayed on the website.

Dickhrm, I belong to the Berkeley Camera Club. The club is an official Photo Society of America(PSA) club. That means we have to pay dues since probably (i'm guessing since I'm not involved in its running) $15 of our $35 dues probably goes to the PSA. (definetely won't do if you are an anarchist or libertarion club). But the PSA will supply your club with a website that does all that you are asking. Go to our website and see how it is set up. It would also plug your club competition-wise with all the clubs in your region. We are in the N4C region. Look up N4C and it will give you an idea of the regional council and what it does. Many of the clubs in the council have the same web set-up.
Good luck with you search.

We use meetup.com here in Tulsa also. I don't think it's as "closed" as you might think. I followed the group via the website for nearly a year before I joined. You can try this link and see what all is available for viewing as a "non-member" .... good luck with whatever decision you finally make.

Letting people post anything they want could be a problem. Someone should have oversight.
