Anybody using DuckDuckGo? Do you recommend it?

Yes. There is a caveat...

DDG uses google, yahoo and other search engines results (similar to dogpile).

The two advantages:
- No apparent tracking
- Multiple sources for the research so 'paid top of pile' is rendered less... urgent.

Thanks all for responding. I switched from MS Edge to Chrome and my browser to DuckDuckGo

It seems to give me the same search results as Google, and no tracking.

I use it also, but have come to the conclusion that the search results are not quite as good. Considering their good intentions I'm ok with it.

Not better than google on searches but it does not track your use of the net -if you use the correct browser. Do not use chrome or microsoft edge. They also keep track of your searches and other private details.

Thank you for pointing out this latter advantage of DuckDuckGo and that other Internet Search Engine (ISE), www.dogpile.com, which was created in 1996.

Based on what I read at the beginning of this URL, https://file.org/guide/what-is-dogpile-and-how-do-i-use-it.html, DDG's type of search engine is referred to as a Metasearch Engine, as discussed here, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metasearch_engine.

My only question for you, Rongnongno, is what caveat are you referring to?

Simply it does not use its own spider. So the result are identical. (Google+yahoo!+bing)

There are hundred of specialized search engines that look for specialized data and as such are originals. DDG is not as it 'borrows' from the three generic 'bigs' (I forgot bing)
