Getting Close With The 135mm Lens

I posted this image to show how capable the 135 lens is. However the file size is only 800K which only makes it suitable for low res internet use.

OTOH this image taken with a zoom which is alleged to be less sharp that the 135 1.8 has a file size 6X larger and therefore is more versatile. Each has its strong points and weaknesses.

A long lens is more suitable for bird photograph than a short one...size matters.

The 135 f1.8 excels is low light at close distances where as the 100-400 f5.6 is much better in bright light and distance subjects.

One lens is best in one scenario while the other is best in another. Sharpness is often irrelevant.
