This was the first year I didn't shoot any fireworks - what wasn't cancelled got rained out. On the 4th we hung at home and I edited some pix from vacation. We actually celebrated on the 3rd - another foggy day. The "kids" came down and we had a cookout and while 3 of the guys slept, The oldest grandson, his mother, and I played some games on our deck. He IS "Trouble" - a game favorite because he loves sending everyone back to home base and the game can go on for hours!
My wife and I went to Old Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts just a fifteen minute ride from home. Normally the crowd would have been quite large. In this time of social distancing, the village restricted the amount of people that could enter at one time. Another feature that did not take place was the swearing in ceremony for new citizens.
Most buildings were not open and costumed craftsmen and women demonstrated their areas of expertise out doors.
Here are a few photos taken at the Joint Armed Forces Training Center, Los Alamitos, CA. The base was closed to the public, but fortunately I live close by, and set up in an area close to the base. Thanks for posting.
The problem with trapping a skunk is you might succeed. Then what do you do? 😜🤪
Not that difficult, is it roadrunner? I approach the caged beast with an old plastic shower curtain In front of me. No one feels threatened. No one gets sprayed🤠😊 Covered beast gets carried over to the neighbors where I borrowed the neighbor’s Pickup to haul him out way beyond his territorial boundaries.
yep!.. Fireworks !!! Happy 4th !! (and 5th, and 6th..) Saturday night we went to the Rising Star Casino... you really can't take a camera in there... But Sunday Night,,,, Aurora just plain lit up the river...
On the actual 4th, Lightroom, Photoshop and I spent some quality time working on pix from our mini trip. And some more seltzer pix (red. white and blue at least) that I took yesterday.
Wife had a dual surgery on June 30. She has been told not to sit up on her own or do anything beyond eat, sleep or go to the bathroom. I’m her nurse, cook and maid for the next few days and full recovery won’t be until mid August. And the dishwasher died, so here’s how I saw Independence Day.
Nice capture Tex. Looks like my fourth. Had surgery May - bleeding ulcer June - still healing. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work.
