This year's Balloon Fiesta has been postponed until 2021, as has many events that attract large crowds. If you ever get a chance to attend this event, take it. It's exciting, fun and a remarkable opportunity to photograph. Access to the balloons allows you to stand right beside them as they prepare for liftoff and the take off as well. In many cases attendees actually help the pilots launch their balloons. Upwards of 500 balloons took off on the morning I was there. The last time I was there was unique in that the balloons took off, were blown east by the wind and as soon as they got to a 1000 feet the wind up there blew them west back over the field and as they descended many were able to land right from where they took off saving their chase drivers gas. Nice photos. When I am here was traveling through Alburquqe on the way to Roswell I saw the Balloons from the waiting room as I was waiting to catch my return flight. It was interesting as some of the balloons were blown over the runway.

Here in central CA there is a Balloon fest in September and I can see the Balloons from my house. One year one came directly over my house and he was low enough that I could hear the burners when they were ignited.
