Insect - A Look At My Face

I found this deceased beetle in the basement behind some boxes that had my gear in it. It was quite a pleasant surprise and a wonderful find although it was not in the best of shape. However, not letting an opportunity go to waste, I staged it for a focus stacking session to share with those who care to view it.

Thanks, Donna. Of course my focus stacked sessions with insects are those that are dearly departed and I find quite a few of them that way. It is estimated that there are 200-million insects for every one person on earth so the few that I dispatch surely won't be missed in the scheme of things and I never, ever take pollinators, butterflies or those that are rare and beneficial. Surprisingly I find many of my subjects floating in the dogs outdoor water bowl.
