Found this in my house today

Nikon D7000 at ISO 400, with Nikon 105D macro lens & 36-mm auto extension tube, 1/200-sec at f/22.
I caught this guy and put a toothpick under him and he just hung on and I shot all my pics. when I was done I put him in the backyard.

I asked because your illumination seems a bit hot on one side. By "ring light", do you mean an O-Flash attachment?

Your "ring light" looks like LED illumination. If so, it is not powerful enough to provide adequate fill light for your side-mounted speedlight. You might try a white card opposite your speedlight to bounce-illuminate dark side.
