My 500 PF came in yesterday, July 1, 2020. Thought a few shots were in order, so Itook it out for a test drive, connected to my D500. Terrible day-windy, overcast, drizzle at times. Still found some bees willing to be my subjects as long as flowers were available. They were and are!
1/1600-1/2000, f5.6, ISO not over 1000. Tripod and handheld. This lens is wonderfully light. The 10 foot minimum focus distance is something I have to take into consideration when shooting insects.

Enjoy!
Outstanding. I wish that lens was in my buget.

Thanx for viewing. Took forever and two days to arrive.

A keeper for sure.
Yes. The light weight over the 200-500 makes this lens just right for me. The 10 minimum focus distance is something I must work through.
Excellent set, Timothy, the last one is a show stopper.

I have a similar conundrum with my EF 400mm f/5.8. Popped in 50mm extension tube helped a bit but not much.

Thanx for viewing. So far yes. Minimum focus distance will be something to work through. The weight savings over the 200-500 is substantial.
Very good set, Tim, a worthy lens, it's a keeper.
