I really love my Sony a6000, and want to get another 6*** . I am familiar with the use and menus. It is easy to carry, I have several batteries and a couple of e-mount lenses. I have several Canon EFS and FD lenses that I have been using with converters to the a6000.
Not interested in FF.
Options, a6100, 6300 and a6400.
I shoot landscape/wildlife and street.
Probably will carry both cameras with different setups.
The a6400 looks good. Any recommendations.

I see two things that prompt me to suggest that you include the a6500 in your list.

1. non-Sony lenses that (?) may not be stabilized
2. the a6500 has in-camera stabilization that works even better with e-lenses but helps a lot with legacy and other lenses.

Just my 2¢.

I agree. I use an A6500 and love it. The image stabilization is terrific, and if you are going to use longer lenses for wild life you will really want that feature, even if the lens is also stabilized. You don't get the newest focusing stuff, like eye focus, but in every other respect you give up very little compared to buying an A6600.

Cheers

I agree with the A6500 suggestion. Best Buy no longer lists it in their inventory, and B&H shows a picture of it but the note says it’s discontinued. However, you can still get the body on Amazon, and it’s reasonably priced. Second choice would be the A6400, which is an updated A6300. I have the A6300 and it’s a pretty good camera. I only have steadied lenses, so the IBIS isn’t that important to me, but if you have non-legacy lenses, the IBIS in the A6500 is the way to go.

I’m having lots of fun with my A6000. Recently added a 2nd A6000 body only. And plan to mostly keep it on a Sony 200-600 lens. Birds and Landscape for the time being. At this time my Len’s are all Sony.

I hear ya. I keep threatening to sell off the A6300, then I go out and take some pictures and wonder, what am I thinking. I’d love to go full frame with Sony, but I just can’t justify it.

IF you really like to shoot wildlife in motion, get the a6600. It has the latest tracking mode called , TRACKING EXPAND FLEXIBLE SPOT, the sony a9, a9II, and a7rIV have it also.
Once you acquire focus, no matter where the subject goes in the frame, the camera follows it, it is a game changer for me.
That said I have shot the a6400 and it also does a great job.

The a6500 replaced my Olympus m 4/3 (travel) system and my Nikon DSLR system. I got lucky and found a used one locally with several lenses. I don’t think the stabilization is as good as the Olympus. But it does help and the fact that the in body stabilization works in conjunction with Sony lenses with stabilization is a bonus.

Very important but I had refrained from saying that very same thing cuz it’s apparent that the OP already uses non IS lenses with a 6000 with no IS.

But since it’s come up, I’m piling on !

The a6500 does have the eye autofocus. Had the grandkids down for 3 weeks recently and it’s brilliant, especially with the toddler. I’ve been using the a7r3 and my daughter has now swiped the a6500. Best with Sony lenses though.

I have been using a 6000 for about 4 years and just, last month, found a used 6400. I was looking for a 6500 but found a super good deal on the 6400.
I've found the the menus on the 6400 are a little harder to find some things in but there are more things to find. The IQ is about the same on both but the AF is noticeably faster and the tracking is better on the 6400 (haven't used the eye tracking yet).
The 6400 is some heaver and feels better in your hands, feels like more quality. Moving the focus point is much easier (sometimes too easy) to move. You don't realize how often you touch the screen until you have a touchscreen (I turned mine off).
I have never used a camera with IBIS so I don't know how great it is but you won't go wrong with an a6400.
