Anyone recognize the bug/beetle?

Shaped like an American cockroach (palmetto bug).
Never saw one with the white stripes though.
Send a picture to your local Agricultural Extension Agent, they should be able to help.
(They did for me to identify a Southern yellow jacket queen.)

Thanks, Longshadow. It does look rather like a roach but I don't think I have seen one like this until now.

Submit it to Bugguide on their facebook page.
I found one photo of it's twin through google, but it was just called "red-headed cockroach". Which probably means they didn't know either.
Or, PM newtoyou or relbugman on this site.

If it's a roach, it's a pretty one.

Looks very similar to our Australian Native Cockroach Ken...if you like I can post a pic...

It is a cockroach. The antenna and the legs are clues.
One of many non-invasive natives.
This is Pseudomops septentrionalis. The Pale boardered Cockroach. Pretty insect, well done.
