Yes depending on the size of what is being backed up and your internet speed. It will be slower over wifi. You can speed it up if you plug into your router with an Ethernet cable.

Well, internet traffic has probably been at an all-time high with everyone working/schooling/being bored from home.

It also gets limited when the computer is in use. IIRC you have an option to give it more bandwidth in the settings, can remember where and don't have access to that computer at the moment.

What I did was, when not using the computer I changed that setting (for example during the night). And turn it off when using it.
Remember to turn it off at least when the initial backup is done.

Usually people have better download that upload speed (in many cases 10 times faster).
BackBlaze (as other companies do) offer the option of receiving drives with your data by mail. In this case, they charge you the cost of the drive, and refund it if you return it.

Do you turn the computer off or sleep it when it is not in use?

I have Back Blaze. I get an E-Mail once a week after it has done a restoration back up.I don't request a backup, it just does it. It only backs up new additions. No need to do the whole process over again.
