Just spent three and a half hours on line with two Adobe agents. The second agent controlled my PC for two hours before we stumbled onto an answer. I am just hoping to save someone else the pain.

I have a Win10 PC and a subscription with Adobe. Over the months Lightroom Classic has loaded more slowly until the last few weeks when it was taking 3 to 5 minutes to load, unless it failed to load at all. When the folders pane started to load, the application would freeze and become non-responsive. After 3 to 5 minutes LrC would suddenly finish loading. I finally got tired of playing solitaire until it finished and went to Adobe.

I have always used a Bluetooth Logitech keyboard and mouse in my setup. The program that came with them is called Logitech Options and allows setting the optional functions on the devices.

It seems that when Logitech Options installs, it also installs a plug-in in LrC. The solution to my problem was to disable the Logitech Options plug-in in plug-in management. Of course, that was after trying everything else the agent could think of including updating, uninstalling, reinstalling, clearing all preferences, etc. Luckily, he finally found a recent, single post in support describing the issue and cause.

I have no idea what the plug-in does and disabling it has had no effect on my usage.
Again, I just hope to save some pain.

For all Apple users, I know my problem is I have a PC and it would never happen on a Mac. Just sayin'

The only two reasons Mac/Apple users have fewer problems and fewer virus etc is that the machines are so controlled and only made by Apple (well for a short time they allowed clones - ended that) so the hardware variety is limited, and so is the software available. And since they have no competition the prices are higher. Second reason is the Black Hat Guys/Gals go for the PCs simply because there are a lot more of them. More bang for your buck. The huge variety of components and software also allows more chances to hack in.

If Mac suddenly became the in thing and the majority of computers were Apple/Mac then the hackers and Black Hat crowd would start going after them just as hard as they go after PCs now.

Same pretty much applies to the Linux users. Not enough Linux machines to make it worth while to the Black Hats.

Wrong about Apple. I have a MacBookPro and I purchased a high-end ergonomic Logitech keyboard and could not even get it to perform basic Lightroom functions. Logitech had no one who could respond to me about anything Adobe. I returned the keyboard.

Been using LR and Logitech devices for quite a while without any issues. I checked my LR plugins and there isn't one there. I recently upgraded and installed so maybe you made a selection somewhere that installed it. Doesn't appear to be a default.

Another issue becoming notso common buy sucky anyway.
Sometimes the update for AMD video cards include the newest AMD video software.
Which includes the AMD audio software for the video card.
That doesn't have the audio hardware.
Tho setup replaced the system hardware with the AMD audio hardware.
The DP, DVI and HDMI ports will still transmit audio. To the monitor.
But your system hardware won't work.
Like the builtin mic and headphone jacks.
AARRGH happens.

Yes it does. I just got a lesson on audio with my nvidia card. Also my wireless Bluetooth headphones. Took me a minute to figure out why and how to get them to work on my red dead redemption 2 game. Unless the apps are open they don't show up in the audio section of windows so you can't assign which audio device to use for them. It was interesting because I learned a little about windows audio which I have never had a need to mess with before. Just an aside. I'm not a gamer but built a computer with a state of the art video card. Raytracing and dlss ect. My son told me to get the aforementioned game because he thought I would like the style. New high end games are almost like watching a movie. I was amazed. The graphics are amazing. Anyway I have the fastest photo editing computer I've ever owned and it was well worth the time and 1300.00 dollars.
