Hello everyone,
How can I resize my photos to fit in a fixed dimension small window on a page of a website, for example 1.4inchesX5.5inches?
I tried it on a photo on Photo shop elements 8 the resizing option but the final picture got squished then I tried cropping it and also it didn't work.
Is there a way to fix that? or is there a previouse setting on my camera (Canon 60D)to take a picture according to the size I want?
I am really lost. Can anyone help?
Thank you so much in advance

You should be able to set the crop size with and height on the top bar and then crop the image it will be the right size. Your dimentions might be in metric so may have to change to imperial for your inches.

You might have to loose a bit of the image round the edge. I bear this in mind when shooting and allow for croppage space.

You first need to determine the exact size of the window into which your images must fit, in pixels not inches or cm.

In some post-processing programs (I use Lightroom 3) you can then re-size your image to the exact number of pixels to fit.

The size you use in your example (1.5x5.5 in) is not near any standard aspect proportion I am aware of (e.g. 4x6,3x5, 8x10). This will require you to crop your image prior to re-sizing, which LR3 can also perform for you.

Everything on the web is pixels so the first thing you want to determine is how large is the section of the web page that you want the image to fit in.

Google for
pixel ruler

measure the size and then make your image a couple of pixels smaller to insure a good fit.

Hello everyone, br How can I resize my photos to f... (show quote)

I use Photoshop so I'm assuming Elements is similar. When you resize a photo there is a setting called "constrain proportions". Make sure you have clicked that setting. It will resize the photo and maintain the original height to width ratio otherwise strange things happen.
