Adorama Used Camera Sales

Has anyone had a recent experience selling camera and gear to Adorama.
I shipped camera and gear to them and they received it 10 days ago. Still no quote.
Call get voice mail, say will call back in 1-2 days.
I thought their reputation was good, I now am concerned.

COVID 19 has slowed many businesses. They are very reputable. Have patience.

There is a representative of Adorama that monitors this board. I am sure they will jump in and help where you put Adorama in the title of your post.

It has been some time since I did, but it went OK. The covid is slowing things down. But, give them a call, it might be good for you to speak with someone there. I have.

Patience is a virtue. Covid-19 has slowed down instant gratification.

Yea! Even AMAZON has slowed down, that's how we know this Covid19 is not Over.

Yes I agree patience is a virtue but it does have limits. After they had my camera and equipment for 8 days, and after multiple phone calls, connecting to voice mail or terminal music I was told would hear back that day. No response that day or the next. Multiple phone calls to voice mail and terminal music again.
Surprise, within 1 hour of my post received an unacceptable quote. Asked for return of camera and equipment.
So much for the easy way.

I agree. It is very possible that right now they are tackling a huge backlog of used cameras that have been sent in from customers over the last few months which still need to be processed. It may take quite some time until they are once again caught up and service is back to normal.

Why didn't you get an upfront quote subject to inspection prior to shipping your gear to Adorama?

If that really was the case, they probably won't survive. From your answer, it is pretty obvious that you have never taken all your money and risked it on a business of your own. I really feel for businesses today as they have challenges that have never been seen in our lifetimes, and I am 80. Many will not survive and this affects them, their families and employees. Not to mention sometimes even customers get hurt. So, lighten up Leftj, it could happen to any of us.

I personally sell all of my equipment here or on ebay. I get 50-75% more money selling it myself rather than have KEH, Adorama, B&H, or others get the profit.
