This is a tiny fly that I found on our vines today that I brought in for a focus stacking session at 5X+ magnification. I don't know what type it is so if anyone knows please pass it along.

Thanks, Brenda. Of course when I look at it with my unaided eye I the fine hairs are not visible so it is always a bit of surprise to see just how hairy or fuzzy they truly are.

Thanks, Bill. I'll stage a full profile shot of it. It's about the size of a grain of rice and it shares features with a Robber Fly although the eyes appear to be different or at least different at this stage of its life. I don't know how large the smallest nymphs are.

I assume that the colors on the eyes are due to the lighting ad or reflections? Excellent stack.
