Ink for Epson 3880

I have been trying to but ink for my Epson Stylus Pro 3880 printer. The old reliable sites (Amazon, B&H, etc.) only had a couple of colors. The Epson Store had all the colors at $79.95 per each - I used to pay around $50-$60. The best site was ITSupplies.com which had them all at a discouned price of $68. Is the 3880 printer being discontinued and not supported? I used to be able to get genuine Epson ink for the 3880 everyehere!

I hope the 3880 is still being supported as I'm not ready to put out $1400 or so for a comparable printer.

Do you think the trade wars have anything to do with supply lines from Asia? Maybe there are distribution issues around covid issues?

Local stores will sell ink for the current printers, which seems to change almost monthly.
Some stores probably don't want to keep stocking ink for "old" printers, especially if they have limited shelf space.

I get my Epson supplies from ITSupplies (for a R2880 printer) and lately they have been having trouble getting supplies from Epson, and I have had both ink and paper backordered numerous times.

Printer ink is a scandal. It seems that almost every model printer requires a different kind of ink, and the prices are ridiculous. $79 for one color?! And you need nine of them?! It looks like they're still available.

I recently got an Epson printer with ink tanks, and I get all the refill bottles of ink for $63.

" inkjetcarts.us " The absolute BEST available inks for your own re-filling, at about 20% the cost of the epson inks ( if you can find them!!) Their pricing and customer service is incredible, with equally incredible match to the Epson OEM inks!! They will also do custom profiling if necessary, but I haven't had the need..Their inks are THAT GOOD!!!!

Have you looked at Amazon? I just did and there seems to be a number of suppliers. I have had a number of large format Epson printers and suggest you only use Epson ink. Yes it may cost more but it keeps them from clogging print heads. Epson often has sales on their cartridges.

Possible. An ink set for my P800 is on back order and has been so for over a month with B&H.

I buy mine from B&H, I buy the set of inks made for the printer...the price is what it is... as far as being discontinued, https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3812626
