Benro RedDog R1 Mirrorless Handheld Gimbal ???

I just ordered this gimbal from BH and of course the minute I ordered it I found out it is discontinued and replaced by another series of Benro gimbals. Does anyone here use this model? Should I change my order and get a current production version? Any comments??? This will be used on a RX100vii and a Sony a7iii with a Tamron 28-80 lens. Thanks in advance.

You should be aware that you will have to rebalanced the gimbal each time you change the focal length of the lens, if the lens changes physical length as you zoom. The gimbal motor can handle small changes, but it does decrease performance of the gimbal if not well balanced. It is truly a pain IME to use a gimbal with a zoom lens.

Kymarto, thanks. I did cancel that order and reordered one that has stronger motors. Time will tell. Maybe if I balance it in a mid point, moving the lens one way or another will be OK. If not, I will have to leave it set after balancing it.
