Just had this delivered today..I have a Nikon one for my D7200 and that was expensive enough...the Nikon version for my D500 is around the AUD$500 mark depending where you look. I'm really impressed with this Meike one, the build quality is very good and it fits very well onto my camera. It also came with a full function remote...only AUD$108...one Nikon I looked at was AUD$519..!!
I did find a cheaper one at AUD$75 but opted for the Meike as I'd seen a review that said the quality was very good...I'm glad I did...so if you are ever after a battery grip, check this one out...

This may be on a tangent but:
I have a Canon 5D Mark IV. It came with a Canon Battery Grip. I rarely use it because with the additional battery, it tends to get a little on the heavy side.
As for the company, Mieke, I had purchased a Macro Lens Mounted Ring Flash. It is a nice build and very light weight. I have it placed in a belt pouch that I attach when going to a flower show. It seems that for the money, this is a worthy company with reliable products.
Happy Shooting!

This is tangential as well, but I bought a set of Meike extension tubes for my mirrorless Fujis, and along with having cost a fraction of what the Fuji brand tubes would have cost, they're finely made and work faultlessly (communicate properly between lenses and bodies). Nice to know that sometimes 3rd party peripherals are not only aok, they'll save you some of shekels too.

Yes, it isn't a light weight combo, especially with the D500 (with my 150-600mm on as well) which is a fairly big camera. I love the extra weight though as 99% of my photography is hand held and the camera sits nice and still in my hands.
The other issue is, the D500 is renowned for using up its batteries very quick..some don't have this issue but mine does even with the upgrade batteries, So the grip gives many more shots without having to change batteries. And then there's the other reason I bought it..I've had both my wrists and hands operated on, several times, over the years and I can't reach around to the shutter button when shooting in portrait mode...with the grip, no problem...

Had a Meike grip when I owned a D750, and fit, finish, and function were excellent.

They make a great product. I had one official Nikon battery grip and one Meike grip. Looked like the same thing to me except for the Nikon brand name. The Meike worked flawlessly.

The Meinke and other similarly branded units are not of the same durability, nor made of the same materials. My experience with 3rd party gear is that some are fine, others, not so much. What will define this purchase is the intended use. It won't hold up as well in long term, heavy use. Yeah, when new it may be fine but come back in several months after heavy use and give us an opinion as that will be more relevant. I have several Meinke products and while OK for light use, they don't hold up long term...If you are not a heavy user, this may be fine, time will tell...

I have Meike grips on both my D500 and my D850 with no problems. The Meike grips are very well built, plus they way cheaper.

Take advice from someone who doesn't know how to spell Meike with a grain of salt. LOL.

Funny, are you the spelling police?...If you base your knowledge on correct spelling, then most everybody who posts should be ignored...

Good deal. For the difference in price, you could buy several of them and still come out ahead. I had a non-Nikon grip on my D600, and it was fine.

I've had Meike grip on my A77 for about 3 years, only problem has been a small rubber tip that fell off after 2 yrs. About 1/3 price of Sony at the time. I have a Sony grip on my old A300 and it does seem to have slightly better build quality, but there seems to be no difference in performance. Of course grips add weight, though not nearly as much as the film era motor drives: I take the grip off when I take the camera on an extended trip and carry an extra battery in my bag or pocket, not so much for the weight but for the bulk it takes up in the bag.

Unless you're interested in a new muffler for your camera.
