I bought a Minolta lens from a private seller in Japan on eBay at 4:30 PM on Monday the 15th. It came with free delivery and price seemed quite fair.
It was on my porch at 10:30AM today. 42 hours Japan to Michigan, Wow!

You sure the seller wasn't in Japan, Missouri? Yes there is an unincorporated community with that name. And 1860 to 1908 it even had a post office.
Nah! If the lens had come USPS from Missouri to Michigan you wouldn't be getting it for a week or so yet.

Even before Covid, overseas delivery was very uneven. If they happened to find room in an airplane belly, it could come almost over-night.
