Can anyone tell me the difference in models 9000 and 9500 other than the price?

???? I have a Canon 5D Mark II, and have never heard of these model numbers. Where are you getting this? If these are true different model numbers for this camera, I would go to Canon's website and take a look. Or call Canon or someone like B&H and ask.

Asking the question for my husband, Mooseeyes :-) He found an ad on B&H website. He's in the market for the 5D Markii. Thanks.

The 9000 and 9500 are model numbers of Canon Printers. Have you gotten these numbers mixed up with body numbers?

B&H's product number for the 5D M2 is: CAE502

Thanks very much, Mt. No, I have to blame my husband for the mix-up :-) I don't know how he got printers and cameras confused.

Just for giggles, the Canon 9000 Mark II uses dye inks and the Canon 9500 Mark II uses pigment inks.

He Probably got it because Canon offers a 400.00 rebate if you buy a printer with the camera as a bundle. Tell him the Canon 9500 does not print high gloss. Even on the platinum paper. I am very bummed over this and have been exploring the world of fine art matte papers. The 9000 I believe has a gloss tank. So they are printers not cameras. It's a great deal I took advantage of it. Got my rebate from Canon directly in about 6 weeks.

The 5D Series seem to be the only Canon DSLR that has series models. I purchased a Series II about 4 months ago when the price was significantly reduced when Canon introduced the Series III, which is selling for well over $1000 for what you will pay for a brand new Series II. There are obviously differences between the Series models, but they are not huge differences. I am quite delighted with my 5D Series II which replaced a 450D. The only complaint I have about the 5D Series II is the weight. It is quite heavy compared to the 450D, but it is a very robust camera so you would expect this. Other than that, it is a camera where you can have a lot more flexibility in controlling exposure, focus etc. I see myself using this camera for a number of years to come.

I see Canon just released the 6 d which appears to be a low version of the 5d2
