I just got my first FF camera. Nikon D610. I was wondering if anyone has this lens. If so....What do you think about it?

Like it and love it. Sharp through the whole range.
I also have the D610 - for over 6 years already and also have the same lens - it is the only lens I own and I am very happy with it. BTW, my shutter on the D610 finally went to the great place above the clouds, after some 105,000 actuations, it cost me just slightly over $300 to have it replaced and it feels like I have a new camera again. Good luck with your set!
I enjoy mine and even occasionally use it for young kids sports.

I have one that I bought used about a year ago. My intent was to have an alternative "all day" lens for my D500. It does an excellent job in that role as an alternative to the 17-55mm f2.8 zoom that I've been using for about 12 years. But it also serves well in the same role on my D850 as a slightly smaller and lighter alternative to the 24-70mm zoom that is primary there. It's not a top-line lens, but it's right next to them. One observation is that it doesn't seem to be quite as "colorful" as the best lenses. I bump saturation up one notch when using this lens to get a better starting point for editing or JPEGs that are more comparable with the other lenses.
The other big advantage of this lens is that very nice used ones are generally available for $400-450, which is much less than its price new. I paid $425 for mine at my locl camera shop. The only disadvantage was that I had to order a hood for it.
Unless your expectations and requirements are for quality and performance equal to the highest level premier lenses, it is certainly worthy of consideration.
It was the main lens that I kept on my D800. Now I most often use the Z7 and the 24-70 Z lens.

I have the same lens on my D800 and love it.
If this is your first FF, the implication is that you were using a DX or other crop frame previously. What were your most satisfying lenses on that body? The DX equivalent would be something like the 16-80 DX. If you liked that range, the 24-120 would be a good fit.
I’ve used the 24-120 I and II on my crop sensor cameras from day one, 36-180 seems to be my sweet spot On my D300S and I leave the 20-35 f2.8 on my D700. Great combo and great lens esp that 24-120 f4.
I have the same lens on my D750. It is an excellent all purpose lens.

I do not. I have the Canon 20-105. Wish that Canon had this range.
You will most likely find this will be your favorite, most used lens you will ever own
This range is so versatile you will love from the start.
Per others it is also a very good lens optically so it will not disappoint.
I have one use it all the time on my D750 ,great lens.

Just to be clear ... Nikon has made 3 different FF AF 24-120mm Nikkors over the years. Do you happen to know which flavor you are considering (you didn't say if you are buying New or Used). The current model has VR in gold stamped near the lens mount. I would not recommend the model with VR in Red.

The 24-120 f4 Nikon is an excellent FF zoom lens. Sharp throughout the zoom range. Unlike other zooms the sharpness is identical throughout it's range.
I pair this lens with the 16-35 f4 Nikon zoom. They take the same filter size, I use both primarily for landscapes.
This range is so popular Nikon came out with a DX 16-80 2.8-4 for their cropped sensor camera's. And that lens is also sharp through out it's range.
Sharp. Pleased in general.
