Thanks to Keni I did this with a link to Serge Ramelli.. I found he was a bit hard to follow as he said all the things he had done were in presets you could download. Used my own picture and with a magnifying glass and using the video stop and start button to see the controls and the values he set I got there in the end and did a bit of what I wanted.. It is supposed to be fine art..

Val I think it is a wonderful photo and I love it against the black background but I think the blacks in the tiger fur are too dark/black. On the edges of the tiger you can't tell where the background ends and the stripe begins. I don't know if that is a composite background but if it is, you might consider lifting the blacks on the tiger. You can do it in LR with an adjustment brush if its not.

When I downloaded his pre-sets, I applied them to my photo's and then played with the sliders to see what his settings did to the photo and made my own adjustments based what I liked better. He does talk fast and I start and stop his videos so I can keep up.

Glad you like the photo Keni, I agree the black is dark and I did try to lighten it on the tiger. It is not a composite background but maybe I did the gradient tool a bit too far over and that made it darker. Serge seemed to make his background dark.. I did sign up to his site and is that where you download his presets? Maybe it would be better with a lion or lioness as they do not have so much contrasting colors. I have a nice lioness picture so will have another go with that photo.. It is a lot different working in LR and I am using the classic one that comes with PS CC . Back to the drawing board for me.. Thanks for your comments Keni..

I like this Val. I studied Serge Remelli several years ago with respect to Lightroom and learned quite a bit. I haven't seen anything recently so not sure if this is or is not doing what he would want you to do. Having said that that doesn't matter, you said you made some final adjustments to tweak it with your own impression. I think this background being 100% black and the tiger stripes at 100% lets this fall into the fine art category. I like this effect a bunch. πŸ‘
I also like the positioning of the tiger and the blank space to the left. Perfect framing.πŸ‘

If you asked me to find something I might change it could be the grass. If I couldn't clone it with tiger hair I would do it with cropping. This is a very minor thing in my opinion but some will want it out.

Looks good to me Val. I find I do the stop/start thing with all the tuts, it’s impossible to watch and practice in real time - well, for me anyway.

Thank you very much Jim, this is the first thing I have done in LR, Thought I would try after seeing Keni's Church.. I got rid of the grass by filling with the content aware and did it in small patches. I do not know what I tweaked but liked the result..

I liked the look of the first one. But once you got rid of the grass I really liked the final product even more. BTW now that you signed up, he will be sending you offers on a pretty much daily bases. For me he is hard to follow with his accent.

I like the grass-less better; IMO it didn't really add anything. Quite striking work, Val!

Thank you very much Frank, I like it better with out the grass. I did find Serge Ramelli very hard to follow and he did things so quick saying don't worry as you can download the presets to what he did. I found that he talked a lot about nothing as well.. I like Jesus Ramirez as he is easy to follow.. Do not now if he does LR though...

I find Jesus Ramirez to be an excellent instructor. I have never seen him do a LR presentation.
