I have a Manfroto monopod that does NOT use an arca quick release plate, and a tripod head does use an arca quick release plate. It's a pain to be switching plates on the camera/lenses depending on whether I want to use the monopod or tripod. Can anyone recommend a monopod head that uses an arca quick release plate?
Thanks.
You CAN make an adapter ....attach an A/S plate to the bottom of a MANFRO receiver - available from ebay (where I get mine) or Amazon I am sure.......
Been shooting off monopods for about 30 years now. If you are trying to follow action, I recommend a video/fluid pan/tilt head. Most, are NOT A/S tho - so you will have make an adapter - with an A/S receiver on top of the fluid receiver.
Otherwise, I like a simple pan/tilt head with a panning ability on top - this is so the monopod can be at an angle and still allow a LEVEL panning motion.......PM me and I can give links to all this stuff.

Some would argue against a ball-head on a mono-pod but I have a RRS ball$$$ and with its’ quick release plat, its’ terrific....RJM
I had a similar problem I found this. Now everything hooks on via arca Swiss
If you mount with a lens collar then portrait or landscape doesn't matter.

Check the Benro ballheads on B&H.
IB2 or B3 I have the IB2 on my monopod. Works just fine.

Take your pick:

I've replaced the mounting platform of a Manfrotto ballhead with one that's Arca-compatible.
If the head you have now can't be easily modified, uses one of the Manfrotto proprietary QR systems, there's probably an adapter available. However, I'm not a fan of those because it doubles the number of connections, adding possible points of failure.
I have Manfrotto 560B monopod with Innorel D30 head. It's working fine with my D850 and D7200.
I have put Arca Swiss clamps on my monopods using a Bogen 3232 - now Manfrotto 234 - tilting head and putting a third party clamp on top of it. I think I used RRS clamps, but if I were doing it on a new one I'd probably use the $15 Neewer clamp from Amazon. Take the tilt head apart (it's easy - just make note of the order things go on the cross screw) and attach the clamp with a 3/8 bolt of the proper length, which will give a much more solid connection than using the thumb wheel.
