Estate sale finds.

You got some great Leicas. What did you pay for the batch?
Yes, that's what really matters. Finding is one thing. Getting a good deal is quite another.

Geez! All I seem to find at estate sales around here are Instamatics 😩

Right! And old clothes and sugar bowls. I wonder why they even try to sell some of this junk. At the end of the weekend, it's sitting by the side of the road with a "FREE" sign next to it.
Nice cameras from my home town. Cool, I have picked up some neat stuff at yard and estate sales to.
You are very fortunate. That Leica featured in the 2nd photo is probably a IIIg made in 1957.

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this post. These are some cameras I found at an estate sale in Akron, Ohio this weekend. I know everyone is into their phone cameras nowadays but I couldn’t pass these up.

Going to auctions and yard sales is like moving a ton of earth to get one oz. of gold and it is all done by hand.

Wow!!! And I thought I got lucky sometimes. Good job.
Great find. Now get some film and start shooting😀

Actually I have an Instamatic 500 model built in West Germany. It has a Schneider lens, Compur Shutter. Gossen Meter. The meter doesn't work and I waited too long, as Kodak had just shut down the repairing of those cameras. I did buy some color neg film but it remains in the freezer and the camera on a shelf. I started to make photos in the 7th grade with a #400 Instamatic camera--it's main feature was a clock-wind motor drive and it still works. Film seems to be the issue <G>

I agree wholeheartedly. If it was not purchased at K-Mart/Wal-Mart/Big Lots chances are you won't see it in any estate or yard sales anywhere near here.

My reference was to the other molded plastic P&S Instamatics. I too have the Instamatic 500 (three of them actually). I had an Instamatic 200 in my youth as well. I would really like to find a camera repair service that could/would modify the film winding/shutter cocking mechanism to accomodate shooting 35mm without having to shoot a blank frame to prevent overlap.
