Canon larger format printers going away?

In a recent post there was discussion about Canon printers. I am a long time Canon printer user and presently have the PRO-100. I went to the Canon website, and it appears from the website, and the forum comments, that Canon is no longer making the PIXMA Pro-10 or PIXMA Pro-100, leaving only the ImagePROGRAF 1000 listing for $1300.00. Does anybody have any insight into whether Canon is abandoning this segment of the market or are they replacing it with an as-yet unreleased models?

Interesting. Just before I posted my question, I was on the Canon website and both the 10 and the 100 were out of stock, and another post I read indicated they were no longer being manufactured.

Without getting in to politics, it might be hard getting anything made in China now. Add that everyone is buying things for stay at home covid activities, demand may have emptied the pipeline.

I asked about monitors at Costco last week. None are in sight in the store and none are coming. I wanted a Blackstone griddle for my birthday. Every single normal source was "out of stock". My wife found one place in the country with only 5 left. She bought it! Now I just have to find things to cook on it that don't have covid pricing!

Can't get them from factories that are closed, or at least can't get parts.

The other possibility is new models coming out.

Canon has their printer factories in Vietnam for quite sometime now. So if someone has a Pro100 or Pro10 check and see where it was made?

Maybe they will offer it with a $1,000 rebate.

Wow you shocked me for a moment , when you said large format ,as I consider that over 24"large format . First off a few facts I own the new PRO 4000 a 44" wide printer and an older IPF8300 another 44" printer ... The Pro series of printers all have the newest tech by Canon and carry the red line stripe on them . The PRO 1000 you mentioned is part of that line . What makes them unique is the whole line has new features not advertized . The heads are no longer capped at a capping station They are imersed in glycerin after the ink is drawen back into the system and a negative pressure is applied to the nozzles to draw in glycerin which keeps the nozzles from clogging ink is refilled back into the head to print . Also the nozzle checks are done with glycerin not ink so no ink loss. all this to produce better prints . Still 12 twelve ink tanks but no green it is replaced with a chrome optimiser that can coat the entire print to cut down on bronzing and heads as always user replaceable. There are deals run by Canon knocking prices down $299.00 out there in rebates now and again on the PRO 1000 . I got an instant rebate of $800.00 on my PRO 4000 . Try calling Lexjet about the Pro 1000 My connection is William "Trey" Kelly. He will let you know if rebates are scheduled ... They have been suppling my needs for 8 years , wth canvases and paper , and ink..Get the PRO 1000 if you can . Famous photographer" Joel Grimes" has a video tutorial out Photo Printing Masterclass.. They start with a Pro 4000...P.S. The printers need to be on all the time for the mixers in the sub tanks to stir ink and keep a negative pressure on the heads . I also have a UPS an" Uniteruptible Power Supply " on all my printers as lightning and power surges are not covered under Warranty .
