My wife has been looking for a cross body camera strap for her Canon PowerShot HS70X. She is ambidextrous, so shoulder doesn't matter. Our go-to, Best Buy, doesn't seem to carry them. I spent a long time on B&H's website and was overwhelmed by prices, and some of the "cons" written about in reviews for even the ones rated 4.5. I would be interested in what UHH members have to say. I would like to stay under $65. Thanks in advance for your advice!

I use this for my D850 very secure and comfortable, Black Rapid Curve Breathe. No idea on price where you are but under £60 in UK. https://www.blackrapid.com/curve-breathe-cross-body-strap-for-mirrorless-cameras/

Cross-body is a method, not a piece of equipment.

I have always carried my camera cross-body.

Get a good camera strap and let out the adjustments until it is long enough.

If you want the camera to dangle off one side, get a strap that attaches with loops and put both loops on the same lug.

I like this one:

$11.

Less than $26.00

It's a shoulder strap.

I have a crossbody strap from US Gear that I have used for several years. I really like it. I am a 5ft 9in plus size woman (well endowed) and it fits very comfortably but can be adjusted smaller. The camera falls right about hip level and is super easy to grab and shoot. I did remove the under arm strap. It was annoying and didn't let the neck strap fall in the right place. I have read complaints that the screw attachment can sometimes work itself loose from the camera but I have never had that problem. The good news is that it is under $20.

I use the Black Rapid Cross Shot. It's got a very wide, moldable, slip proof shoulder pad that's actually, surprise, surprise, slip proof and comfortable. It holds the camera upside down from the 1/4" screw receiver on the bottom of the camera that normally connects the camera to a tripod. I didn't think I would like that but in practice it works very well. About $50 from B&H I think.

There are quite a few specifically designed for women. Probably worth a bit of research on your final field of choices.

I ordered this Black Label Bag Red Racing Stripe Canvas Camera Strap - 40” at B&H for $49. On special order now, but doesn’t take long. Item #:
B&H#BLB218RED • Mfr#BLB218RED
Has 2 metal loops - one on on each end. Just connect on the same strap triangle.

Try Peak Design, they have straps with easy adjustment to shorten the straps, the version called slide is very comfortable. Its about US$65.

I LOVE OP/TECH USA products and have been using them for years. My go-to is their Pro Loop Strap, worn cross-body, leaving the DSLR dangling at my fingertips ready to grab and shoot. Their products are modular and meet all your criteria, including price.

The Canon PowerShot HS70X weighs in at 1.34 lbs. So IMHO a cross body camera strap is overkill and really restricts your movements and most times is uncomfortable.
Here is my suggestion. This is what I use.

I am female, use a Peak Design Slide Lite with my Fujifilm XT-2 and I am quite comfortable wearing it as a crossbody strap. I walked all over Baltimore last summer with it and have hiked all over Pisgah National Park using this strap with no discomfort. I like the fact that it is a quick release strap and I can take the camera off the strap for tripod shots or handheld if I desire.

I also recommend black rapid straps. If you leave the strap on the camera and never remove it then check to make sure the connection is tight.

Check out the Altura Quick Fire Strap sold by Digital Goja. For around 20 bucks. I use one with my D7500, and love it

This is what my wife and I use. Very easy to adjust even while in use, it is comfortable and one side slides easily and the other side sticks so that the camera will not move. We have used them for about a year and will not change.
