AM/PM mini...
Sunrise in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and sunset over the Pacific. I am not sure if these meet the definition of minimalist, so I'll just call them minis!
Nice balanced composition in #2.
Wow, not too many times a year you get that shot of the Golden Gate
Breathtaking, Phil!
I also like the mood of #1 very much. Is it a big crop, or have editing such as Topaz? I'm wondering if you tried to lighten what was originally silhouette?

Thank you R.G. This composition, from this POV is available twice a year!

Hi Linda! The first photo is big crop and I did attempt to lighten the shadows. As it shows here that was a mistake. Here is the SOC jpeg. There may not be a photo here at all! I think I was too impressed with my success at getting to this location (an hour and thirty minutes from my warm bed) at this hour. The sundown shot was taken from the Berkeley Marina and I did make note of the semi-annual date! Thanks for your always helpful comment.

Thanks Alan, we are still staying close to home and these are from the files. I hope you and Christine are getting out and thanks for your last email, it gave me some needed perspective.

I like your edit and if it is cool with the guidelines of this section feel free to post it. I would be compelled to chainsaw the utility pole!

As I mentioned in my pm this result is from opening your jpg in ACR (PS Elements version of Adobe Camera Raw) and just using those few sliders. I plan to tweak a little further tomorrow.
I understand about the pole; I might feel the same if the shot was mine
(there are wires attached that would have to go too - and they run all the way across the frame...twice
)
Thank you Phil!

That's a beautiful big old sun, phil...I love the awesome sunrise shot of the bridge!

I like your edit. I tend to use the NIK shadow slider as a go to and appreciate the reminder about ACR in Elements.
Beautiful by any definition, Phil!

I'm not sure where that slider is. I opened Viveza and did find brightness + a tool I'd totally forgotten about: the curves adjustment! (I do use levels a lot in PSE)
Here is an edit from Nik Viveza, and since you had two real birds hiding in the dark, I decided to remove them and brush in fake ones.
I also tried out a new fog brush, but I can see that needs more practice
That's for your indulgence Phil!
