Some months ago, members were very helpful when I requested information about a suitable flatbed scanner to scan 2 x 2 slides and black and white negatives. In response to those recommendations I bought an Epson Perfection V600 and it has produced excellent results on scanning both black and white negatives and transparencies.
However, I have had problems, possibly due to the fact that I’m operating on Windows 10 which is not mentioned in the user’s manual I have. Is there a new one?
The problems are-
1. The tabs on the front of the scanner-e.g. copy, email etc. do not work. They are not illuminated, and the computer keeps saying that the scanner is not recognized.
2. I have searched online for answers to “Problems with Windows 10” and tried to follow their recommendations. But when I do, either the screen that they recommend is not there, or else its drop-down menus are different from the ones that I have.
3. The printer works fine.
4. I continue to have problems with saving the images to a specific file-but perhaps that problem is mine not the computers. Again, any suggestions on how to simplify saving would be welcomed.
I would very much appreciate help with these problems.

I downloaded the file V600_EScan_3930_AM a few days ago. I have been scanning old B and W negatives.
Just tried the PDF button and up popped a windows that wants me to SCAN first then press FINISH after that. It produced a beautiful PDF of my picture and named it automatically from a previous scan. Worked great for me. I have Windows 10, also. You might want to re-install that software from Epson.

I am using that driver and it does not work. I reinstalled it and still does not work. Must be a security setting. I will contact Epson.

I have found that you need to power up the scanner prior to launching the Epson software, then things work for me, give it a minute to get going, BTW scanner also works with PSP.

That is true for the scanner driver but does not fix the button issue.
Buttons do not work on Mac 10.14.6 either has never worked since new
I have lots of epson stuff, please reach out to them, email, call tell them about your problems, if you don't let manufacturers know there are issues they can not apply a fix in the next release. Know exactly what operating system version you are using and the hardware, ADM, Intel, and motherboard, or in the case you have bought a prebuilt system the exact model number. An explain what drives you nuts.... :)
I have a v600. It works fine for me but I have not tried the buttons. I am using Epson scan and Windows 10.
Software can be run in comparability mode. You could try to set it up for Windows 8.1 compatibility.
Just an idea - I have an Epson scanner as well. Epson allows you to install just the driver or a suite of programs (which include the driver). The suite includes the functionality you are looking for. Where did you get the driver?

From the Epson support site. All it gives is the user interface.
