This guy suns himself everyday on the back of this gnome. Picture was taken with Sigma 120-600 zoom set at 600mm and mounted on a Sony A6500 camera. Effective mm with this camera is 995mm (1.6 multiplier).
Or 960 if you do the right math. ππ€ͺ
Or 900 if you do the right math with the right crop factor. ππ€ͺ

The crop factor for the Sony 6500 is 1.53. 1.53 Γ 600 = 918. Is the math right?

Yes, better math. And Iβm willing to stipulate that for that sensor, will Sony says itβs a 1.5 crop factor, based on actual sensor dimensions itβs 1.53, but then we should also stipulate that while Sigma calls that a 150-600mm lens, (not 120), it actually tops out around 565mm, making it equivalent to 864.45mm. ππ€ͺ
Very nice catch! Thanks for sharing, regardless of the math.
