I'm currently using PSE 7, but wonder if it is worthwhile to upgrade to PSE 10 or not.

I used to have PSE 7 and upgraded to PSE 9. It was definitly worth it. There is a lot more you can do and a lot of fun features. I think you can get a upgrade for around $70 online. If you like to play around a lot with your photos I would subscribe to Adobe Photoshop Elements Techniques magazine. It comes out every two months. It provides techniques that are specifically for Adobe Elements 7, 8, 9 and 10. They also have tutorials and videos at their website and you can access every magazine they've done since 2005.

Adobe added layer masking to PSE 9, which all by itself was worth the upgrade. So upgrading from PSE7 to 10 will absolutely be worthwhile.

Thank you all. I'm convinced. I also will look into getting the Adobe Elements magazine suggested.

Just checked Amazon and they have Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Upgrade for $76.24, and also Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements 10 Upgrade for $113.99. Two questions.
1) Is there any problem upgrading from PSE 7 to PSE 10?
2) What is Premiere Elements 10 and again is it worth it?

Thanks again for the great information.

I beleive that Premierre is more for video...

Get it right off the Adobe web site...They keep a record of it and you can re-download it at any time. Create an account there. It is best

Thanks. I may wake up one of these days and check the websites.

I just googled the phrase, Adobe Photoshop Elements Techniques magazine, and came up with their website. Then I bookmarked the site. Looks like I will definitely be spending some time there.
Thanks

So, I guess it would be worthwhile upgrading to PSE 10 from PSE 4! Thanks for all the great information.

That might depend on what you are doing with the program. Yes it has new features, but will they be things you use? I have PSE 9. Friends swear by it. I still use PSE4 on some of my computers, for what I do.
Are there features here that you need and will use, or are they just bells and whistles that are nice to have ?

I also have PSE7. Last nite I downloaded the trial version, actually the full version, of PSE10 that you can use for 30 days. It can be used in conjunction with PSE7. Then if you decide to upgrade all you have to do is put in the license number to continue using the program.
