Minolta 67z

What do you know about the Minolta 67z? I can find features and specs, but no reviews or sample pictures. Just curious. My first 35mm camera was a Minolta, back in the late 60's, early 70's. I know it's not the same company and I've read they may have taken a hit in quality. It sounds like a nice bridge camera, and I wondered if the new company was trying to improve.

I just did a quick Google search and couldn’t find much about this camera, but I did notice that there were some negative reviews, giving it one out of five stars. One person stated that they took 10 shots with it and it quit working. I know that Sony absorbed Minolta a few years ago, but I know nothing else about Minolta bridge camera. Proceed with caution.

Thanks! That's what I had seen. If, and when, I get another bridge camera, you have certainly made the p900 one of the top-of-my-list cameras. I'm very happy with my Panasonic fz80, but I do enjoy seeing what different cameras can do. Best to you!

Good morning. Actually, I think the FZ80 is a great camera, with good, long zoom range. I like what the P900 can do, but I’d recommend waiting until you can afford to get the P950. It has an improved, larger EVF and rear LCD screen. It also has RAW capability, and, if I understand correctly, improved focusing. It wasn’t out when I got my P900, so I didn’t have that choice. The P950 also has some updated, improved controls. What I have discovered is that a full zoom, the images aren’t real sharp. They’re not bad, but nothing you’d want to print and hang on a wall. It’s so long that it magnifies everything along the way, including dust, haze, smoke, heat distortion, and all. I think, if I were to do it all over again, and could afford it, I’d get the Sony RX10IV. It doesn’t have the zoom range of the Nikons and others, but it just does everything well. Meantime, just enjoy the FZ80. It just works.

Here’s a link to the current Minolta website:

https://www.minoltadigital.com/

The statement at the bottom of the page is a telling bit of text:

“Minolta is a registered trademark of JMM Lee Properties, LLC and is used in the United States by Elite Brands Inc. under license.”

It appears that the 67Z is a Minolta in name only. Who knows who manufactures the cameras that bear that name - it’s just a name that’s been purchased for use on products JMM Properties contracts with someone to make for them.
