Tired and depressed today (covid and killer cops got me down) so I just stuck a prime 35mm on the XT-2 and walked up the alley. Minimalist B&W urban decay felt about right.

Disregard those down-thumbs above, Joe. Some people wouldn't know a feeling --or recognize that someone might want to objectify a feeling photographically-- if it whacked them up side the head with a two-by-four.
Can't say I felt either tired or particularly depressed today --though a piece I read in the Washington Post today had me literally in tears for a moment or two-- but the clouds had become interesting, and I took out north of home (with my XT-2 and a Nikon) to see what I might find. Surprise! The nearby National Park was OPEN! News to me! Woo hoo! Went and shot what looked like might be some ok stuff, came home, downloaded, yada-yada-yada, and felt like an idiot. Between Covid and the 'unrest' (boy, is that an understatement), and the litany of other issues that are a damn sight more depressing.... to go out and shoot some "pretty pictures" seems so...…….. well, I think you get my drift.
I won't call your image Minor White-esque, but I will call your image honest. A lot more honest than anything I shot today.

Joe. I like the shot, but it could be any barn anywhere. Can you find urban decay that tells more of the story in one shot?
Keep shooting. I remember all the wars from 1945 and on plus all the civil unrest. I will not live to see any resolution but I have optimism in human nature.
