When we eat outside on the patio I always have a camera on the table. Because of the heat of the sun, I have it in a white towel. Keeps the camera off the metal of the table and out of the sun. This time, the D7200 with AF S Nikkor 200-500 5.6 E ED. My efforts are usually rewarded, but this was an especially strong conclusion to an extraordinary photo day. A variety of birds including a new one - a Yellow Warbler, unless I am mistaken.

Nice photos. I especially like the Lazuli Bunting and Yellow Warbler.

Thank you! I am particularly fond of the Buntings. As noted, the Warbler is new.

You've done it again Quixdraw. A wonderful set, everyone sharp and clear. It's a hard choice but I will go with the Spotted Towhee.

Thank you! Had an amazing day, despite several hours of mowing and maintenance, I took over 100 photos. Usual max for a day at home in the thirties. The Towhee is a favorite, but pretty shy. Mostly the shots are bathing or leaving in a blur of motion.

Beauty! I didn't know you could find a Yellow Warbler in Montana. Turns out they go all the way up to Alaska.

Thanks! First sighting this time. Always fun when it is a new one. My Wife claims we have more as yet unseen. She hears a lot better than I do, and says the song variety is much greater this year. I know I've seen our Bullochs Oriole, but haven't managed to put a lens on him.

Hi quixdraw,
Loved the shots AND notice one seemed to have been taken in a water feature. Is it a pond? Pictures? We have a pond in our backyard and the birds love it for a quick 'n refreshing stop. Take care & ...

Thank you! Yup! A Koi pond with a waterfall. Did all but the excavation ourselves. The Birds, bees and dragonflies love it. I'll come up with a pond photo.
