One Good Tern...

...deserves another. Yes its a worn out cliché and yes my sky backgrounds are mostly blue.

But it is still cool to sit on my back deck and have three different tern species fly over within range for fairly decent shots. And all within 1-2 hours yesterday afternoon during happy hour! It's amazing anything was in focus.

Note the differences in bill coloration and the black masking on the heads of these birds.

Last week, the feds raided a container ship in Juneau, AK seizing 200 tons of marijuana in large bales. Since Juneau is land-locked, the Feds decided to dispose of the marijuana by taking it to the local landfill to be burned. While burning the bales of narijuana, a flock of Artic Terns flew through the thick clouds of smoke circling up in the air. And Juneau? Not one tern was left unstoned!
