I was working on a minimalism challenge and shot this. I don't know that it could be considered minimalist but this idea occurred to me as I was shooting. Whatever it is I really like how it turned out. What do you think?

Love your title because it says what I was thinking: she sees herself as a bit more curvy than she really is

Fun, creative shot Keni.

Thanks Linda! I didn't want to give away too much with the title. I think it hints just enough but still allows the viewer to determine what was in the mirror.

I like it; but I think the vertical line going through the figure is distracting. It would be an easy job to remove it. That would make the panel behind the figure wider than it is; but, since the panels don't appear to be uniform anyway, I think it would work. Light is really good. I like the tones in the shadow. This is good work. Shag rug is a nice touch.

Well done kenievans. Without the shadow and the gradient of light across the photo the shot of the dressmaker's form would be a nothing "so what" photo. Lighting made this photo a photo with impact.

I really like it too Keni, and it’s certainly minimalist. Clever stuff! Took me a moment to work out Erich was talking about the shadow, but I wouldn’t change it personally.

I like it too, but not sure I can explain why other than its simplicity.

Thanks Erich. I understand about the line. I removed some other imperfections but didn't think of that. The figure is actually only about a foot tall. Its a pin cushion.. The rug is a fake fur blanket I use for newborn shoots. The light is from an open doorway and a soft umbrella light. That's what created the different tones in the shadow. It was a fun project.

Thank you sir. I struggled over the title. I wanted it open to the viewers interpretation.

Thanks! I have struggled with body image all my life. What you see on the outside is not always reflected on the inside for many people.
