OH brought in a "handyman" to cut back a large creeper which is over a pergola in the front garden............he is out there with a saw.........I just looked out and he has cut off several limbs of a young japanese maple that I have grown from seed...............
I complained to OH who went out and said "Do not cut any more off this Maple" and the man said "I got rid of those bits so that I could get in there"
Too late now to say anything, he has ruined the shape of my pride and joy. Can you hear me screaming?

Then why did you write "OH I brought in a handyman"
Had to laugh, reminded me of myself. With our Cov-19 isolation I could not get a haircut for 3 months (normally bi-weekly) and my barber retired during that period. When barber shops were allowed to open last week I had to go to a new barber with a head that had no style. After about 10 minutes the barber turned me around to a mirror and said how is that. It was a little late to say a little longer on the sides! However, it will grow out faster than your tree!
Hey, it's never too late to complain--someone will always listen, as we are now. I'm sorry about your Japanese Maple. At the shop where I work (which I rent) I had planted a garden to attract butterflies and other pollinators in memory of my father. Though it had a little fence around it, the new yard crew went in with a week whacker and chopped all the new plants down last year.

What was said was “OH brought in a handyman” no I in that at all. OH should have made it clear and whomever OH is, OH is probably in trouble, lol.
It would be a terrible loss!

Same thing happened to me! I told the barber I want it kept long —— well, it seems anything longer than a military buzz cut qualifies as long!

You didn't find him on a corner or in front of a hardware store, did you? My niece's neighbor did.
Over growing non flowering wall eating ivy plants, competing with the flower garden.
He spent too much time cleaning the hedge trimmer and asking for new blades. Niece "donated" a can of WD.
Then he was asked to clean up the mess. She discovered the garden was also trimmed, maybe 6 inches.
The wall was very visible, tho.
