I met my wife in grad school - I earned a MBA but she earned a PhD in chemistry. She was - and still is - my best friend. By the time we were married in 1979, that was totally out-of-date.

That's about as chauvinistic as one can be. Perhaps and unfortunately valid then, but I certainly hope we have far better opinions and expectations of our mates now. It reads almost as ugly as 1600 - 1865 rules for slaves in US. If it was posted in humor, I apologize for missing the humor.

I do not believe you.
I am 72 - the women of my generation are the ones raised with your "joke" as education, but broke that stereotype as they grew up. Some 'cavemen' may still think it is funny, but many of us honestly do not.
Most of us won't say anything here, but we are not amused by what we grew up with.
