Another try at M104

The sky was clear and no moon was bothering me last night so I took some better subs of M104. Unfortunately I only got 1 hours worth of 6 minute subs but the image was still better than my previous attempt. The color is better and now there is a little bit of detail in the dust band, not just a black line like my first try. I still need a lot more subs to clean up the noise with a DSLR.

It's Beautiful!

I did find a smudge on it though...
Then realized it was my display.

I need a nap. Or I'll be dozing at the mount again tonight.

I do print some of my shots. The next one to print is actually the shot of M51 I just posted. This one came out better than M104 as I was able to get a lot more subs and it is much higher in the sky than M104.

Amazing and only 1 hour? You must have some decent skies.

Hi Europa
The sky was decent the other night, the thin crescent moon had already set, there was a slight glow from Sacramento 50 miles to the south but the sky was clear and the milky way was visible to the east. As I'm typing this in, I have my laptop remoted and am currently imaging NGC 4565 while monitoring the shots from my desktop away from the mosquitoes that seem to be out. I hope to get a couple hours of subs before it goes behind my house.

It's the On..ally way to fly!
Sometimes I remote just to be inside the house and nearby the wife watching TV.

(She also smells a lot better than Repel with 40% DEET)
But she does seem to attract mosquitoes.
