This is wonderful! What a difference one wet cormorant makes to the overall interest (for me). Did you edit the rocks furthest away to make them more distinctive? There is a noticeable line around the top edges.

I only pixel peeped because I like the misty softness, but generally that's not your preference.

I probably wouldn't have posted what would have been just another rugged coastline shot without the cormorant. I didn't give any targeted processing to the far away cliffs so they got just the global adjustments which were optimised for the rest of the shot. I would normally have tried to dehaze them a bit but haze was such a predominant part of the SOOC shot that I decided to just leave it. The line along the cliff tops is from the extensive processing I had to give the sky. This one took a fair bit of work.

SOOC.
SOOC....

Nice scene. I wonder if he has a fishing license?

Thank you AZPL. I believe he's operating under the Seabird Exemption Clause .

Nice capture. I agree the cormorant makes the difference between ho-hum and yeah!

The world is so different and so much the same the more you see of it. Your image, I presume in Scotland, could have been taken here on California's Central Coast including the cormorant drying his wings! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. There's always a bit of luck with shots like that - which is what makes them special.

Indeed. I've gone to all sorts of lengths to capture what makes that part of the coast special and I end up with something that has a universal flavour .
