Went to Washington with the Kentucky Honor Flight October 2019.
Just a few images from the trip.
Nice shots, thanks for sharing.
Nice. Thanks for sharing.
Thank goodness they still use a real rifle rather then the plastic mattel toys (sorry, showing my age and bias). My first issue rifle was an M1, then the M14 came out. Easy transition except for changing from clip to magazine reload. Got used to the extra 12 rounds real quick though! Loved it and have had my personal M1A since they became available. Only other officially issued weapon I had access to after I was commissioned (other than a 1911A1) was an M3 while I had a 104RR platoon.

Important day coming up...
Thanks for the photos, especially during this memorial day weekend. Twenty-one steps down, turn repeat rain or shine. Great photos.
A great post for this weekend!
I to went in October 2019, I went with Old Glory Honor Flight. Old Glory covers the Northeast area of Wisconsin.
I had a wonderful time.
Thank you for your service.
Excellent, and very appropriate for today as we honor all those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us!

I remember my trip to Washington with happy and moving memories. In the Korean War memorial, top photo, one statue is different from the rest. It is of an unarmed soldier - the Medic, a Quaker.
We were told at the Tomb of the Unknown in the Arlington National Cemetery that there will never be an unknown US service person ever again. The reason - all personnel have a DNA sample taken and safely stored so identification can be made accurately.
We were given this information by our excellent and knowledgeable tour guide. Perhaps a member of UHH can verify?
question???????? what is the tennis racket in the background for. I watch the service this am and couldn't figure it out. thanks
